F. Tony Di Giacomo, Associate Director

Mr. Di Giacomo received his undergraduate degree in Secondary English Education from Boston University where he was formally trained as a high school English teacher. Mr. Di Giacomo also received his M.Ed. in Policy, Planning, and Administration from Boston University with a focus on International Education Development, International Relations, and Ethics. While pursuing these degrees, Mr. Di Giacomo also gained valuable experiences working with urban high risk school children of all ages in addition to teaching EFL and citizenship skills to adults. Following these degrees, Mr. Di Giacomo worked in higher education at Boston University in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and later in the Office of Development at the University of Virginia. The combination of his work background and degrees prepared Mr. Di Giacomo for his Ph.D. in International Education Policy at the University of Maryland where he is currently a doctoral candidate. Mr. Di Giacomo focuses his dissertation primarily on countries in Eastern Europe to better understand the role of formal K-16 education in transitional and post-transitional democracies.
