William Hansen, Senior Managing Director
Mr. Hansen came to the firm from a Fortune 500 company where he led efforts to develop effective technology solutions for education. In his capacity as Deputy Secretary of Education, he acted as Chief Operating Officer of the Department of Education and helped transform the agency into an accountable, performance-based organization. He also helped lead the Department to a clean financial audit for only the second time in its 23-year history. His knowledge and management capabilities are the result of combined public and private sector experiences and success. He serves on several boards of directors in the private sector; he has also served as President and CEO of an education trade association and as a member of several state and national boards and commissions in the education sector. While he has particular experience in the area of higher education, Hansen is committed to improvements at the elementary and secondary school levels as a means of increasing access to higher education. Mr. Hansen believes that the Chartwell Education Group can create comprehensive, results-oriented solutions for preschool, primary, secondary and higher education.
