Description: Former Education Secretary Rod Paige is the author of "The War Against Hope: How Teachers' Unions Hurt Children, Hinder Teachers, and Endanger Public Education." The book says teachers unions have too much power and are blocking needed reforms in the nation’s educational system. Rod Paige is interviewed by Kathy Kiely, Washington Correspondent for USA Today.

Author Bio: Rod Paige was Secretary of Education from 2001 to 2005. After leaving the Bush administration, he co-founded the Chartwell Education Group, an educational consulting firm. Earlier in his career he was Dean of the College of Education at Texas Southern University and superintendent of the Houston Independent School District.
